Ondeh Ondeh Labu

This morning Mr Hubby's breakfast...first time made ondeh ondeh using pumpkins..verdict same same like the normal sweet potatoes ondeh ondeh..hehe Mr Hubby comment was I rolled the balls too thick, next time thiner he said..I told him, thin would be easily broken...hai..(its not easy to make people happy!..) hehe..

Ingredients

about 350g pumpkin, boiled, drained and mashed-(350g labu, direbus, tapis dan lenyek)
200g glutinous rice flour-(200g tepung pulut)
50g tapioca flour-(50g tepung ubi)
1 tbsp ghee-( 1 sudu besar minyak sapi)

1 block of gula melaka/palm sugar - slivered-( gula melaka dipotong kecil)

about 2 cups of grated coconut (without skin)-(2 cawan kelapa parut dibuang kulit arinya)
Steam the coconut with a pandan leaf for a few minutes. Add about a tsp of salt and mix evenly.-(Kukus kelapa, sedikit garam dan daun pandan untuk beberapa minit.)

Mix pumpkin flesh, both flour and ghee and work into a nice smooth dough. Add water if it's too dry or add more flour if it's too wet. Make a small ball, thumb a hole in the centre, insert some slivered palm sugar, pinch dough back together and roll back into a ball.-(Gaul labu yang telah dilenyek bersama, kedua2 tepung hingga menjadi doh yang lembut. Campurkan air kalau adunan kering dan campurkan tepung kalau adunan lembik. Buat bola kecil dan tekan dengan ibu jari ditengah untuk buat lubang isikan sedikit gula melaka dan tutup semula bola kecil.)

In a pot of boiling water with a knotted pandan leaf, slide the balls and boil them. They will float once they're cooked. Drain out excess water and immediately dump into the steamed coconut. Roll until it's fully coated. Serve.-(Rebus air dengan daun pandan bila mendidih masukkan bola kecil dan biarkan hingga bola masak. Ia akan terapung2 bila sudah masak. Angkat dan tapis dan cepat2 gelekkan perlahan2 diatas kelapa parut tadi.)

  3. hwatierman - ai kak, macam orang yang sedang merindui seseorang aje..rindu Along lah tu ya...tak apa lah nanti cuti sekolah balik lah dia nanti tu..

    indahouse - walsklm, lagi senang rasanya nur, sebab, bila merebus labu tu..dengan sendirinya..labunya lembut dah tak payah lenyek sebenarnya..
