Roti Puri


Made this also last week, when everybody's at home...first time I made this and I used my hands instead of the bread maker...I kneaded the dough almost 1 hour..heheh of course while watching the TV...I've realised something though..kneading using your hands made your dough so SOFT!!..all this while I just dump everything in the machine and when the machine beeps, I just knead to punch the air down only and after that just 'half past six effort'..hehehe...

Anyway I made this to be eaten  with bokhara -beef baked beans..the roti puri is very nice and the family agreed that its worth the try..thank you dear owner for the nice recipe..next time can buat lagi..

Ingredients:-
2 cawan tepung gandum-(2 cups plain flour)
1 sudu kecil yis mauripan-(1 tsp yeast)
40-50 ml air-(40-50 ml water)
*minyak untuk menggoreng-(*oil for frying)
*1/2 sudu kecil garam-(*1/2 tsp salt)
*3 sudu makan gula-(boleh dikurangkan jika tak suka manis)-saya gunakan 1 sudu besar aje -(*3 tbsp sugar-can reduce if dont prefer sweet - I added only 1 tbsp)
*175ml air panas-(*175 ml hot water)

Method:-
Satukan bahan *bertanda dan panaskan, kacau sehingga gula hancur dan  tutup api. Satukan tepung, yis dan gaulkan. Masukkan bahan yang dimasak tadi kedalam tepung dan yis  dan gaul dengan menggunakan garfu sehingga bercampur sahaja. Dengan menggunakan tangan, gaul adunan sehingga menjadi seperti serbuk roti(bread crumbs). Tambahkan air sedikit2 dan adun sehingga tak melekat di tangan dan menjadi doh . perap doh selama 30 minit. Bahagikan doh pada 12 bahagian dan bulatkan kecil. Canai doh nipis macam

- (Mix *ingredients and put to boil till sugar dissolves and turn off heat.Mix flour and yeast together. Add boiled mixture to flour and yeast, using the fork just mix lightly. Using your hands crust the mixture till it forms  breadcrumbs. Addwater bit by bit and knead till it dont stick to the hands and form a dough. Proof for 30 minutes. Divide dough 10 12 balls. Roll out like making currypuffs or 50cents coins. Ready to be fried one by one)

Tips untuk menggoreng:-(Tips for frying)
Gunakan api yang kecil/sederhana..kalau gunakan api yang besar boleh menyebabkan roti ni tak menggelembung. Masa Menggoreng hendaklah disimbah2 kan minyak keatas roti ini. Bila dah menngelembung barulah diterbalikkan. -(Use the low/medium heatfor frying. If to use high heat the bread wont be puffy. While frying splash some oil on the bread, when puffy turn the other side of bread)

    My goodness..1 jam kneading...I 20 mins dah lenguh my arm muscle..tapi I'm sure that roti is gebuzzz and yummy..jauh tak rumah you?? Kalau tak...nanti sat I dtg ambil 3 ker 4 biji eh??..muah ha ha...

    memang roti ni tak muak..very light..gitu..3-4 biji aje?..tak cukup tu..kena lebih baru kenyang..hehe

  8. zawani - roti puri yang ini memang best & sedap wani, wani, buat keras ya?.mungkin dohnya tak diuli sampai lembut kot atau, bila wani uli adunannya lembik wani tambah tepung banyak sangat?..akak uli doh nya sampai lembut, maksudnya, adunan ni memang lembik sikit tapi kena uli sampai tak melekat ditangan kalau nak tambah tepung kena sikittt2 aje ..bayangkan akak uli sampai 1 jam!!!..hehe..
    as the tips quote, kalau nak roti yg gelembung gunakan api yang sederhana/kecil..tak apalah practise makes perfect..
