Hello I am back!!...reached home yesterday night and was so tired..didnt got the chance to open my blog..this morning was busy clearing the laundry and stuff bought from JB...stayed 3 days in my brother's house in Bandar Putra Kulai..the kids really enjoyed their stay there, as they can climb up trees and play catching in front of the porch..maklumlah all this while been staying in 'pigeon holes', so when stay in landed house they felt so carefree... Marsya tak nak balik..hehe
Cross over on Thursday night. Not much photos that I snapped, but took this satay that we prepared from Singapore to be barbequed on Friday night. We barbequed, prawns, squids, sausages, fish balls, and chicken wings. On top of that we still prepare the normal menu like sayur lodeh, sambal goreng pengantin, rendang ayam, serunding and of course the compressed rice...
Bahan A dikisar halus-(Blended Ingredients A :-)
*1 kg daging lembu/peha ayam/kambing-(beef/chicken thigh meat/mutton)
*2 sudu besar ketumbar biji- saya gunakan serbuk saja-(tbsp coriander seeds-I used powdered)
*1 sudu makan jintan manis-(tbsp fennel powder)
*1 sudu makan jintan putih-(tbsp cumin powder)
*sejari halia-(thumb size ginger)
*sejari kunyit hidup-(thumb size fresh turmeric roots)
*2 batang serai-(lemon grass)
*4 biji bawang putih-(garlics)
*4cm lengkuas( ini saya tambah)-(galangal- I added this)
*3 ulas bawang merah(ini saya tambah)-(shallots-I added this)
250g gula pasir-(sugar)
lidi sate-(satay stick)
Bahan B-(Ingredients B):-
1 biji buah keras, ditumbuk-(candle nut pounded)
1 sudu teh gula pasir-(tsp sugar)
1 sudu makan air-(tbsp water)
1 sudu makan minyak makan-(tbsp oil)
(dibancuh bersama)-(mix all the above)
Cara caranya-(Method):-
Daging dicuci bersih dan ditoskan. Hiris daging mengikut citarasa masing2. Tetapi setelah dihiris jangan dicuci lagi. Gaul hirisan daging ini dengan rempah kisar, gula dan garam sehingga rata. Perap selama 2 hingga 3 jam supaya rempahnya meresap. Barulah dicucuk dengan lili. Bakar atas tempat pembakar satay dengan menggunakan api arang. Renjis dengan bahan B dan bakarlah sehingga garing dan masak. Hidangkan dengan kuah satay, ketupat, hirisan timun dan bawang.-(Wash meat till clean adn drained. Slice meat according to preference, But after slicing, dont wash anymore. Mix sliced meat with blended ingredients, sugar and salt till incorporated. Let stand marinated for 2-3 hours. Thread seasoned meat on to satay sticks. Grill over charcoal fire or hot grill. Bast with ingredients B and grill crispy and cook. Serve with kuah kacang, ketupat, cucumber and onions.)

Note:- Lidi satay hendaklah direndam dalam air sebentar dan dilap kering. Ini untuk mengelakkkan dari lidi itu cepat hangus dan putus tatkla kita membakar satay ini menggunakan oven. -(Soak satay sticks in water for a while and wipe dry. This to prevent satay sticks from getting burnt and break while grilling using the oven)

Kuah Kacang
This dish was to dip in with the compressed rice . At the same time for the satay. I halved the ingredients. Making adjustments at my side.

1 kg kacang tanah, digoreng dan dikisar-(groundnut, fried and grounded)
4 batang serai dititik-(lemon grass bruised)
1 inci lengkuas, dititik-(galangal bruised)
3 sudu makan serbuk ketumbar-(tbsp coriander powder)
1/2 sudu makan serbuk jintan putih-(tbsp cumin powder)
3/4 cawan air asam jawa(pekat)-(cup tamarind juice-thick)
500ml air-(water)
1 ketul gula melaka-(1 block palm sugar)
1/2 cawan gula pasir-(sugar)
garam & serbuk perasa secukup rasa-(salt and msg to taste)
3/4 cawan minyak, untuk menumis-(cup oil for saute)
Bahan kisar-(Blended ingredients:-)
20 tangkai lada kering-(dried chillies)
2 biji bawang besar-(large onions)
2 ulas bawang putih-(garlics)
1/2 cawan udang kering(yang telah direndam dan dibersihkan-saya tak letak ini)-(cup dried shrimp-soaked-I didnt put this)
Cara cara-(Method:-)
Panaskan minyak dalam periuk. Masukkan serai dan lengkuas yang telah dititik. Tuangkan bahan yang telah dikisar bersama serbuk ketumbar dan jintan putih. Gaul rata dan masak rempah sehingga naik bau. Masukkan garam, gula, gula melaka dan air asam. Masak sehingga mendidih. Masukkan kacang yang telah dikisar bersama air. Jika kuah agak pekat boleh tambah sedikit air. Masak sehingga keluar minyak. Kemudian boleh dihidangkan.-(Heat oil in a saucepan. Add in lemon grass and galangal. Add in blended ingredients together with coriander powder and cumin powder. Stir well and cook till fragarant. Add in salt, sugar, palm sugar and tamarind juice. Cook till bubbling. Add in grounded groundnut and water. If gravy thickens add some water. Cook till oil rise up the surface. Ready to be serve)

Steam Chocolate Cake
Salam, I guessed by this time most of the housewives and mothers are busy preparing the makan2 for tomorrow Eidul Adha..same goes to me here..my family are actually preparing to cross over the Causeway to celebrate the raya with my brother there..so basically I wont be updating till at least next week...will upload pictures if I were to take and update in my blog Ok.
Anyway, I made this Steam Chocolate Cake for my 16th Wedding Anniversary today. Alah, just cake no fancy dinner or what so ever...just makan lontong ajelah malam ni ..hehe..so this cake can for our makan2 tomorrow also.. 2-in-1 cake....dah tua2 ni, semuanya 'wholesale' borong lah gitu..haha.. this cake is very moist and soft baru tadi potong..SEDAPPPPP!!...ini tak bedek cakap-:)
Ingredients:-
1 cup cocoa powder(sieved)-(serbuk koko-diayak)
3/4 cup fine sugar-(gula halus)
250g butter-(mentega)
1 cup fresh milk-(susu segar)
1/2 cup condensed milk-(susu pekat)
160g plain flour-sieved 2x -(tepung gandum-diayak 2 kali)
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 eggs-(telur)
Method:-
Double boil cocoa powder, condensed milk, fresh milk, butter and sugar till incorporated. Let cool and put aside. Sieve flour and bicarbonate of soda together and put aside. Whisk eggs no need to be too fluffy. Add in cocoa mixture and mix well. Add in flour/bicarbonate of soda bit by bit and fold lightly. Grease baking tray with butter, add batter into mould and steam with a medium heat for about 1 hour 45 minutes. Cover mould with aluminium foil.-(Masukkan serbuk koko, susu pekat, susu segar, mentega dan gula kedalam mangkuk dan masak dengan kaedah double boil. Bila semua bahan cair, matikan api dan biarkan ia sejuk sebentar. Ayak tepung bersama bicarbonate soda ketepikan. Pukul telur tak payah sampai kembang. Masukkan adunan coklat tadi dan gaul rata. Masukkan tepung sikit demi sedikit. Gaul menggunakan spatula. Sapukan loyang dengan sedikit butter dan tuangkan aduna kedalamnya. Kukus kek dengan menggunakan api pertengahan selama 1 jam 45 minit. Tutup loyang dengan aluminium foil.)
Chocolate Ganache:-
125g dark chocolate
100g whipping cream
1/2 tbsp butter
Method:-
Using double boiler method again, add whipping cream, dark chocolate and butter and let them melt and let cool slightly before decorating.
Eidul Adha Cards From Friends
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha to our Muslims friends where ever you are. Like every year my family will celebrate Raya Haji with such moderation..as of this year, we will not be in Singapore but somewhere North from Singapore and South of Malaysia..tekalah kat mana..hehe

Beef & Cheese Nachos
A quick update today, made this yesterday for afternoon tea, end up we missed dinner cause so full after we took this... I fried some fries and wedges and introduce this tortilla chips to go along with the sauce and dip...actually wanted to make this for quite sometimes.. everytime I bought the tortilla chips, for sure, no chance of 'survival' as the kids surely finish them up..
As usual browse the net to look up for cheese nachos recipe, a lot of them!!... so I have to look at the ingredients and methods one by one and decided on this .. the beef dip was from one web and the other from another..anyway, I combine here and there to suits my taste again...
Will be going out later to cut the boys hair and purchase Iqram's books and uniform pulak...

Bahan2 untuk daging:-
Ingredients for beef:-
450g daging kisar-(ground beef)
1 biji bawang besar potong dadu-(large onion diced)
1 tsp halia cincang-(minced ginger)
4 biji bawang putih dicincang-(garlics minced)
1/2 biji lada benggala hijau dipotong dadu-( 1/2 green pepper diced)
1 biji lada merah buang bijinya dan dihiris bulat-(red chili discard the seeds and sliced round)
2 tbsp jintan putih-(cumin powder)
1-2 tbsp serbuk chili-(chili powder)
1 biji tomato potong dadu-(tomato diced)
1 tsp lada hitam kasar-optional-(crushed black peppercorn)
1-2 tsp daun parsley kering-optional-(dried parsely)
garam & serbuk perasa secukup nya-(salt and msg to taste)
Method:-
Panaskan minyak dan tumis bawang putih, bawang besar dan halia hingga wangi. Masukkan lada benggala, hirisan cili merah dan kacau rata. Masukkan daging kisar, kacau dan biarkan seketika . Bila daging sudah kering airnya, masukkan serbuk cili, serbuk jinta putih, garam dan serbuk perasa secukupnya. Masukkan tomato dan kacau lagi. Biarkan ia renih seketika selam 2-3 minit. Matikan api dan ketepikan.-(Heat oil and saute diced onions, garlics and ginger till fragrant. Add in diced green pepper, sliced red chillies and stir well. Add in ground beef and let it for a while till water has dried up. Add in chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and msg to taste. Add in diced tomatoes and stir well. Let it for about 2-3 minutes and turn off heat.)
Bahan2 untuk Sos Cheese:- Ingredients for Cheese Sauce:-
1/2 biji lada benggala dipotong dadu-(1/2 green pepper diced)
4-5 biji bawang putih dicincang-(garlices minced)
1 tbsp minyak zaitun-(olive oil)
2 tbsp tepung gandum-(plain flour)
2 tbsp mentega-(butter)
11/2 cawan susu segar-(cups fresh milk)
1 cawan parutan cheddar cheese -(cup shredded cheddar cheese)
1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 biji lada merah dihirs-(1 red chili sliced)
garam secukup rasa-(salt to taste)
sedikit Cayenne pepper-( a bit of Cayenne pepper)
sedikit paprika-( a bit of paprika)
Method:-
Panaskan minyak zaitun bersama dengan mentega. Masukkan bawang putih dan lada benggala dan tumis hingga naik bau. Masukkan tepung dan kacau. Masukkan susu segar dan biarkan ia renih sebentar dengan api yang kecil. Jangan biarkan ia mendidih. Bila adunan sudah pekat, masukkan cheese dan bahan2 yang lain. Biarkan ia renih sebentar diatas api yang kecil selam 5 minit atau sehingga cheese betul2 sudah cair.-(Heat olive oil, butter in a pan. Add in minced garlics and green pepper and saute till fragrant. Sprinkle flour, pour in milk and stir till mixture simmers- do not allow to boil. When mixture has thickens, stir in the cheese and remaining ingredients. Simmer on low heat an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.)

Ikan Siakap Bakar
Today menu was this Grilled Sea bass...imagine now then got the chance to update, during the day, my kids + me were fighting over this computer...even Marsya!!!..Pantang lepa, or if I need to get something, when I came back, there sure to be somebody warming up the seat... basically they wanted to play games lah..
Itupun sometimes I just 'cut que' and told them, a while only I need to go to my blog...and that's when I leave messages in other peoples blog..hahaha..I made this grilled fish using the recipe that I ever used before. I put up here again.
Ingredients:-
1-2 sea bass-(ikan siakap)
1 packet chili paste (with vinegar)-please estimate to how many fish cooked-(chili boh yang ada cuka- mengikut sukatan berapa banyak ikan digunakan)
2 garlics minced-(bawang putih cincang)
10 laksa leaves minced- (daun kesum dihiris)
1 tsp coconut milk-(santan)
oil for frying-(minyak untuk menggoreng)
salt and sugar to taste-(garam dan serbuk perasa)
some banana leaves soften for wrapping-(daun pisang secukupnya di layukan diatas api)
aluminium foil for wrapping the banana leaves-(kertas timah untuk membalut daun pisang)
Method:-
Clean and wash fish as usual and wipe dry with kitchen towel.
Heat oil in wok and saute garlics, laksa leaves and chili paste till oil goes up the surface. Add in coconut milk, salt, sugar and MSG if you like. Cook for a while.
Take a piece of aluminium foil and layered with a piece of banana leaf.As long you can cover the fish its good enough. Put some sambal mixture onto the leaf and layered with the fish finishing the top with another layer of sambal mixture. Wrapped the leaf first then the aluminium foil outside. The aluminium foil is to prevent the fish from burnt. Can be BBQed, grill or on a flat pan. Do not overcook or the sambal will become dry. Garnish with coriander leaves and some lime juice.-(Bersihkan ikan seperti biasa dan keringkan ikan dengan menggunakan tuala. Ambil sehelai daun pisang dan dialaskan dengan kertas timah. Bubuh sedikit sambal diatas daun pisang tadi dan letak kan ikan diatasnya dan bubuh sambal lagi diatas ikan tadi. Bungkus daun pisang dulu baru kertas timah diluar. kertas timah digunakan untuk mengelakkan ikan dari hangus. Boleh dibakar, panggang atau panggang diatas kuali. Jangan masak terlau lama, kerana sambalnya akan kering. Hiaskan dengan daun ketumbar dan perahan limau sambal.)

Seafood Tom Yam Putih
TomYam Putih, again..this time I just changed the main ingredients to seafood..but somehow, have to put some beef in it..heheh..I guessed you know for who right?...
My kids love Tom Yam Soup..even Marsya..its not hot as I just throw in the chillies without crushing it or slicing them...
Ingredients:-
Udang & Sotong -(prawns & squids)
1.2 liter air atau lebih kurang-(water to estimate)
2 biji bawang besar dihiris-( large onion sliced ring)
2 batang serai dititik-(lemon grass crushed)
2 helai daun limau purut-(kaffir leaves)
12 biji limau nipis ambil jus-(lime juice)
3 batang celeri dihiris serong-(celery sliced)
sedikit bunga kobis-(some cauliflower)
sedikit lobak merah-(some carrots)
2 biji tomato dipotong 4-(tomatoes quartered)
cili padi ikut kepedasan dititik-( bird eyes chillies up to preference -crushed)
sedikit daun ketumbar-(some coriander leaves)
1 kiub stok ayam-(chicken cube)
2 tbsp sos ikan-(fish sauce)
garam & msg -(salt and msg)
Method:-
Didihkan air dan masukkan, bawang besar, cili padi, serai, kiub ayam. Biarkan seketika. Bila dah mendidih, masukkan lobak merah dan bunga kobis. Masak hingga hampir empuk. Masukkan udang & sotong, sos ikan dan celery renih kan hingga masak. Perasakan dengan garam & msg. Akhir sekali masukkan juice limau dan tomato.Taburkan daun ketumbar bila menghidang. -(Put onions, bird eye chillies, lemon grass and chicken cube to boil. When bubbling add in carrots and cauliflower. Almost cook add in prawns and squids, fish sauce and celery. Let it simmer till cook. Add salt and msg to taste.Lastly add in tomatoes and lime juice. Sprinkle some coriander leaves when serve)

Choc - Cheese Orange Muffins
Dah lama tak buat muffins, lama ke?...I think a few already tried this recipe..but I cant remember who...actually I just couldnt wait to do this any longer..although theres no orange in the house!!..so I made this without the orange zest...but used the sunquick for the juice... orange and chocolate just goes very well!!!...maybe I should start collecting kulit buah orange after eating oranges..recipe from Che Mat Gebu ler...
I doubled the ingredients and added another 2-3 tbsp of corn oil...sprinkle some chocolate chips and filled half the cup instead of 3/4 sorry ya Che Mat, saya adjust sikit....bukan apa takut 'pisang berbuah dua kali'.(once bitten twice shy)..I remembered the last time muffins that consist, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda will rise when baking, and 20 cups of mufiins were gone into 'Mr Bin' ... so I did what I did...Terima kasih dan halalkan resepinya ya..
Ingredients:-
130 g mentega-(butter)
130 g cream cheese-(cream cheese)
4 biji telur gred A-(eggs grade A)
150 g gula halus-(fine sugar)
260 g tepung gandum*-(*plain flour)
1/2 camca teh soda bikarbonate*-(*tsp bicarbonate of soda)
1/2 camca teh baking powder*-(*baking powder)
40 g serbuk koko*(*digaul rata dan diayak)-(*cocoa powder sift together)
2 camca besar golden syrup (boleh ganti dengan "madu")-(tbsp golden syrup, can be replaced with honey)
1 biji oren, parut kulitnya-(orange zest)
50 ml jus oren (perah dari oren di atas)-(orange juice)
Method:-
Satukan mentega, cream cheese dan gula, putar hingga putih dan gula hancur. Masukkan telur satu persatu sambil terus memutar hingga kembang. Jarak waktu untuk satu telur = 1 minit. Masukkan parutan kulit oren, putar rata.
Pada kelajuan perlahan, masukkan tepung tadi berselang seli dengan jus oren, hingga habis. Macam biasa kalau masuk berselang seli, mesti diakhiri dengan tepung. Putar hingga semua sebati.
Kaup adunan dengan spatula untuk meratakan mana2 bahagian dalam mangkuk adunan yang kurang rata. Sudukan adunan 3/4 penuh dalam muffin cup(saya masukkan SETENGAH saja.). Bakar dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan pada suhu 190C(saya menggunakan 175c utk oven saya) selama 25 minit atau hingga masak.
Sejukkan atas jaringan sebelum dihidang. Kalau suka boleh juga disapu cream dan hias ikut kreativiti masing2....-(Combine butter, cream cheese and sugarin a mixer. Mix till white and sugar dissolved. Add in eggs one by one while still mixing till fluffy. 1 minute interval for each eggs. Add in orange zest. Using a slow speed, add in flour alternately with orange juice till. Repeat till finish ending with flour. Mix well. Fold mixture with spatula. Scoop mixture and fill 3/4 of cup.(I filled only HALF). Bake in pre heat oven at 190c(i used 175c for my oven) for 25 minutes or till cook. Let it cool on wires. You can decorate with your favourite toppings)

Sup Tulang
Ah!!! beef lagi....this was yesterday's lunch...on Sunday or Saturday mornings, usually I will go marketing for wet stuff, but last weekend I was so lazy to get up early..so yesterday, I asked Mr Hubby to go aje....haha..trying to be idle...anyway not much stuff that I told him to get for me... some prawns, squids, stingray and just 1kg of beef...thats all..but you know what?..he came back with no squids but with 1kg of prawns, 2-3 kg of stingray, 2 large sea breams, 2 kg of beef and 1/2 kg of this bone meat!!!..alamakkkkkkkk....my freezer was overloaded lah...
He told me he wanted sup tulang!!!..In my heart..ish beef again?2 days eat beef?..grrrr...Oklah..Mr Hubby, I make Sup tulang for you ..but I told him this will take very long to cook, his answer was never mind take your time...aduhh!!..confirm cannot escapelah....hahaha....it took me 2 hours plus to cook this dish!!!..yalah nak kasi dia empukkan..furthermore I dont have pressure cooker...
Ingredients:-
500g tulang lembu-(beef bones)
1 sup bunjut adabi-(soup spices)
2 kiub ayam-(cubes chicken stock)
21/2 liter air-(water)
3-4 ulas bawng puith cincang-(garlics crushed )
1 cm halia cincang-(ginger minced)
minyak untuk menumis-(oil for saute)
daun sup/daun bawang-(spring onions/chinese celery)
cili padi kalau nak pedas-(birds eyes chiilies if prefer hot)
limau nipis- kalau suka masam2 sikit-saya tak letak ni, saya letak1 biji tomato-(kaffir lime if prefer a bit sour- but I didnt put this as I added 1 tomato)
2 ketul ubi kentang-(potatoes)
1/2 batang lobak merah-(1/2 carrot)
3-4 tbsp rempah sup-ini tiada dalam resipi saya tambah sendiri-( soup powder, not in recipe but I added)

Cucilah tulang temulang. Panaskan minyak, Tumis bawang putih dan halia cincang sehingga kekuningan. Masukkan air dengan tulang temulang. Rebuslah sehingga tulang empuk. Bila dah empuk, masukkan ubi kentang dengan lobak merah. Kalau tak nak letak pun tak apa. Masukkan pula rempah sup bunjut dan juga kiub ayam.(saya masukkan juga rempah sup powder). Biarkan sehingga kentang empuk. Masukkan pula sedikit gula, garam. (Akhir sekali saya masukkan tomato). Bila nak makan bolehlah taburkan dengan bawang goreng, daun sup, daun bawang, cili padi.-(Wash bone meats. Heat oil and saute garlics and ginger till golden yellow. Add in water and bone meats. Let it boil till cook(best if use pressure cooker). When cooked, add in carrots and potatoes, soup spices and chicken cubes. (I added soup powder at this point too.) Let the potatoes cooked. Add in salt and sugar.( Lastly I added tomatoes). Garnish with fried shallots, spring onions and chinese celery.)

Daging Masak Lada Seratus
Saturday's lunch we had this ..oklah since in the morning Mr Hubby already asked about beef, I've decided to cook beef for him that afternoon..trying to ambik hati baliklah kira..hehe..I decided on this recipe somehow...so as I cook, I mumbled to myself..'ni kalau tak makan jaga!!..

Anyway, the recipe was somehow like daging masak merah only there's slight difference especially after adding the fried shallots to melah...well definitely..its worth trying..
Bahan-Bahan
1 ekor ayam /1 kg daging lembu-(chicken/beef)
*2 cawan cili kering kisar-(cups chili paste)
*3 biji bawang besar -(large onions)
*5 ulas bawang putih -(garlics)
*1 inci halia -(ginger)
*2 btg serai -(lemon grass)
*sedikit belacan -(a bit dried shirimp paste)
*1 inci lengkuas -(galangal)
1 sudu teh kunyit serbuk (optional)-( tsp turmeric powder)
1 kotak santan kara (200 ml)-(coconut milk)
3 biji kentang (potong dadu)-optional-(potatoes diced)
minyak utk menumis (abt 4 sudu makan)-(oil for saute about 4 tbsp)
sedikit air asam, gula dan garam.-( a bit of tamarind juice, sugar and salt)
sedikit bawang goreng (optional)-(fried shallots)
daun ketumbar/saderi (utk hiasan)-(coriander leaves/ celery for garnishing)
Cara:-

Matikan api dan bolehlah dihidangkan. Hiaskan dgn bawang goreng dan daun saderi/ketumbar.-( Heat oil and saute blended ingredients and turmeric powder ouil rises up the surface. Add some water if needed. Add in chicken or beef, potatoes and let it till cook. Add in coconut milk and some water. Stir well and add in salt, sugar and tamarind juice. Let it simmer till cook and add in fried shallots and coriander leaves.)

Mee Suah Goreng
Made this on Saturday for breakfast..only now then I managed to update...the mee suah I deep fried in my deep fryer and quickly blanched them in boiling water, so basically while deep frying I put water to boil..when the mee suah has turned almost yellow drained it and blanched in boiling water. When Mr Hubby ate this, he asked me, 'Tak ada daging eh'?('no beef ah?')...I answered him, Pagi2 daging keras lagi ler( early morning the beef still frozen lah')..hehehe..
As usual, he just loves beef very much...everytime when comes to noodles menu, he surely asked for beef in it...my kids, my parents and me dont really fancy beef, we prefer chicken..so almost everytime 'termiss' out the beef..this mee suah I realised after frying looked like mee hoon lah..only mee suah are more soft and tender..haha..
Ingredients:-
350g mee suah-(mee suah)
2 biji telur-( 2 eggs)
1 tbsp lada kisar-(chili paste)-I added more
1 tbsp bawang putih cincang-(garlics minced)
2 biji bawang besar dihiris-(large onions sliced)
3 biji lada merah dihiris-(red chillies sliced)
200g kobis hijau dihiris-(green cabbage sliced)
1-2 batang karot parut kasar2 panjang-( carrots shredded)
2 pokok daun bawang-(spring onions)
300g taugeh-(bean sprout)
250g udang hidup kupas kulit-(prawns deshelled and deveined)
2 tbsp kicap cair-(light soy sauce)
1 tbsp sos tiram-(oyster sauce)
sedikit minyak bijan-(some sesame oil)
sedikit lada sulah-(a bit of white pepper)
Method:-
Goreng telur dengan sedikit minyak, taburkan garam dan lada sulah, pecah2kan dan ketepikan. Goreng pula udang dengan minyak sedikit. Taburkan sedikit garam dan lada putih. Setelah masak angkat dan ketepikan. Mee sua digoreng sebentar, dengan banyak minyak. Angkat, toskan dan celurkan didalam air panas mendidih, sehingga lembut sedikit dan tapis. Didalam kuali yang lain, panaskan sedikit minyak. Tumis lada kisar hingga garing. Masukkan bawang putih cincang dan tumis lagi hingga wangi. Masukkan bawang dan dada hiris. Gaul sebentar dan masukkan kobis hijau dan karot. Jika sayur mayurnya kelihatan kering masukkan sedikit minyak goreng udang tadi. Gaul supaya sayur mayur rata. Masukkan sos tiram, kicap cair, mee suah, udang, telur goreng, lada putih dan minyak bijan.Jika masih lagi meenya kelihatan kering, masukkan sedikit minyak goreng udang dan gaul lagi. Meenya harus lembab sedikit. Masukkan taugeh segera matikan api. Hidang dengan bawang goreng dan lada jeruk. -(Using little oil, fry eggs and sprinkle with some salt and pepper. Mashe it and put aside. Using little oil, stir fry prawns and sprinkle with salt and pepper when ready dish out. Deep fry mee suah, dish out and blanced in boiling water till soft and drained. In another wok, heat oil saute chili paste till fragrant. Add in minced garlics and saute till fragrant. Add in large onions and sliced red chillies. Stir well and add in green cabbage and carrots. If veggies look dry, add in some oil from frying the prawns. Stir well till incorporated. Add in oyster sauce, light soy sauce, mee suah, prawns, eggs, white pepper and sesame oil. If the noodles still look dry add some prawns oil again and stir well. The noodles should be moist a bit. Add in bean sprout and turn off heat. Serve with pickled chillies and fried shallots.)

Sweet Potato Donuts
Asked for Hana's permission to print and try out this recipe yesterday..I told her if I buat jadi then I will post in my today's entry, if not buat bodoh saja..hehehe..So I tried yesterday night using the mixer.... memang pun mixture dia ada lembik sikit, but I added flour bit by bit till the dough didnt stick to the mixer bowl...lama jugak in the mixing bowl sampai my mum tanya, kau buat apa ni? lamanya kau putar....hehe I told her buat donut pakai keledek..apa2 pun Hana, here is my donut, jadi sebab tu masuk entry hari ni...haha...you can see her version of using the pumpkin di blog Hana Japan. Thank you ya Hana for sharing this recipe.
Ingredients
320 grams flour (a bit more if the dough is too sticky)-( tepung gandum)-(tambahkan tepung sikit kalau doh melekat)
2 tsp yeast-(yis)
1/2 tsp salt-(garam)
150 grms mashed sweet potatoes-(keledek dilecek)
2 tbsp sugar-(gula)
30 grms butter-(mentega)
100 ml water-(air)
For coating
Some sugar or cinnamon sugar-(gula untuk disaluti)
Methods
In a large mixing bowl mix all the ingredients together and knead for about 6-7 minutes until you get nice smooth dough. Add some extra flour if it’s so sticky. Cover the bowl with a dry kitchen towel and let it rise for an hour or double it size at a warm place.-(Masukkan semua bahan kedalam mangkuk dan uli selama 6-7 minit sampai jadi doh yang lembut.(saya gunakan mixer putar sampai tak melekat-dlm 30 minit!) Masukkan tepung kalau melekat. Tutup mangkuk mixer dengan tuala kering dan biarkan doh naik sampai 2x ganda.)
Punch down the dough and remove onto a floured work tabletop. Roll out the dough to about 1/4" thick and cut the dough out into rounds with a donuts cutter. Gather the snaps and re-roll, then cut out more donuts.-( Tumbuk2 doh dan alihkan keatas meja adunan. Gelek doh untuk mendapatkan 1/4" tebal dan terapkan menggunakan kan doh cutter)
Place donuts on parchment paper,cover and let rise for 20 minutes or until they feel light and spongy.-(Letakkan donut diatas kertas kalis minyak dan tutup. Biarkan ia selama 20 minit atau sehingga ia beras ringan dan lembut seperti span.)
Heat oil for deep-frying in a frying pan over medium heat. Slip a few donuts into the oil at a time, leaving enough room for them to expand. Make sure that the oil is not too hot otherwise the donuts will not be cooked.-(Goreng donut menggunaka api sedang dan jangan menggunakan api besar kerana donut cepat hangus dan ditakuti ia tidak masak didalam.)
When the donuts are golden brown, turn them over and cook the other side. It takes about 2–3 minutes to cook through. When donuts are done, remove from oil and drain the oil on paper towels before rolling them in sugar.-(Bila donut sudah berwarna kekuningan, terbalikkan dan goreng disebelahnya pula. Ia mengambil masa kira-kira 2-3 minit untuk dimasak. Angkat dan toskan. Lumurkan dengan gula.)

Bawal Hitam Kukus Asam Boi
Ingredients:-
1 ekor Bawal Hitam- (1 black pomfret)
7 biji Asam boi - (preserved sweet sour prune)
7 biji Bawang putih- (garlics sliced)
1 Bawang besar- (large onions cut in rings)
2 Cili merah- (red chillies sliced)
Limau nipis ( lime juice)
1 Tomato dikerat lapan (tomato quartered)
Daun bawang -(spring onions)
Daun Sup -(chinese celery)
Garam secukup rasa-(salt to taste)
Method:-Gaul ikan dengan garam dan jus limau nipis. Perap ½ jam.Goreng 2 ulas bawang putih yang dipotong nipis hingga garing dan angkat.Di dalam kuali, susun daun bawang, daun sup, bawang besar (dipotong bulat) dan asam boi. Tabur sebahagian bawang putih (dipotong nipis) dan letakkan ikan diatasnya.Letakkan lebihan bawang besar, bawang putih, asam boi, daun sup, daun bawang, dan jus limau nipis. Tabur cili merah (dipotong kasar), dan masukkan ½ cawan air. Taburkan garam dan masukkan bawang putih goreng tadi Tutup kuali dan biarkan ikan masak dengan api yang kecil. Apabila masak, masukkan tomato dan tutup semula kuali. Biarkan hingga masak sebelum hidang. -(Spread salt and lime juice on fish. Let it marinated for 30 minutes. Fry sliced garlics, till cripsy and dish out. In a wok, arrange half sliced spring onions, chicnese celery ring onions and preserved prune. Sprinkle fried garlics and put fish on top. Arrange the other half of sliced ingredients and lime juice on top of fish. sprinkle red chillies and add in 1/2 up of water. Sprinkle salt and add in fried garlics. ½ kg pedal– dicuci dgn tepung gandum tuk hilangkan hanyir dan digoreng terlebih dahulu bersama serbuk kunyit n sedikit garam -(chicken gizzard - mix with plain flour to get rid of the smell and marinate with salt and turmeric powder then fried)
( * bahan kisar ) -(*blended ingredients)
*1 biji bawang besar-( large onion)
*3 ulas bawang putih-( garlics)
*1 inci halia-( ginger)
* 1 sudu besar ketumbar-( tbsp coriander powder)
* ½ sudu besar jintan manis-( tbsp fennel)
1 batang serai – diketuk-(lemon grass crushed)
2 pelepah daun kari-( 2 sprigs of curry leaves)
1 sudu besar penuh rempah kari daging-(tbsp meat curry powder)
2 sudu kecil serbuk lada/cili – nk pedas sendiri adjust yer-(tsp chili powder )
1 sudu besar kerisik-( tbsp kerisik)
Air secukupnya-( water to estimate)
Garam, gula n bahan perisa secukup rasa-(salt, sugar and msg)
Minyak untuk menumis-( oil for saute)
Cara2nya:-

Masukkan hati yg telah siap digoreng terlebih dahulu td dan kacau sebati dan masukkan kerisik dan jika terlalu kering masukkan air sedikit demi sedikit bergantung pd kehendak masing2. Akhir sekali masukkan gula, garam dan bahan perisa secukup rasa. Siap!-( Heat oil and saute curry leaves for a while and add in blended ingredients till fragrant. Add in chili powder, lemon grass, curry powder and stir still a bit dry. Add in fried chicken gizzards, kerisik and stir well. Add some water bit by bit according to preference. Lastly add in salt, sugar and msg to taste. Ready.)

Kurau Kering & Pucuk Ubi Lemak Cili Api
Ingredients:-
200g kurau kering-( salted dried thread fins)
*20 biji cili api (boleh tambah kalau nak lagi pedas) -(bird eyes chillies(can add more if prefer hot)
*1 biji bawang besar-(large onion)
*2 ulas bawang putih-( garlics)
*1 sudu kecil kunyit serbuk -( tsp turmeric powder)
secawan santan + air-(1 cup of coconut milk +water)
1 cekak pucuk ubi-( 1 bunch of cassava leaves)
garam secukup rasa-(salt to taste)
Method:-
Rebus pucuk ubi sehingga layu dan toskan airnya. Hiris pucuk ubi rebus itu tadi. Tumis bahan *kisar bersama kurau kering sehingga naik bau. Masukkan santan + air dan garam secukup rasa. Tunggu sehingga mendidih diatas api sederhana dan masukkan hirisan pucuk ubi tadi . Biarkan sebentar dan kacau sehingga masak. -( Boil cassava leaves till soft and drained. Slice them thinly and put aside. Saute *blended ingredients together with salted dried thread fins till fragrant. Add in coconut milk +water and salt to taste. Let it simmer for a while on medium heat and add in sliced cassava leaves. Let it for a while till cook. Ready)

Beef Sirloin Steak
I guessed next time we don't have to eat steak outside anymore...cause I can already do it myself...yabadabedoo...(this is a statement of an amateur cook)...hahaha..like that also happy kan?...well of courselah.. first it saves a lot of money as it can cause you S$13-S$22 a plate outside.. Hubby, Hasif and me like to eat steak so if times 3 dah berapa?..
Saw homemade steak at Kak Anim's blog, kita pun nak try ler, saw this frozen steak in cold storage, cheap.. cheap, 2 packets for S$7+, 1 packet consist of 5 slices, I bought 4 packets without thinking twice.. reached home prepare the marinate...again recipe combine here and there and according to my taste..
Ingredients:-
8 pieces of sirloin or ribeye steak
5 tbsp crushed black peppercorns
5 tbsp black pepper powder
3 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp lime juice
4 tbsp minced garlics
3 tbsp minced ginger
Method:-
Wash and drain steak. Mix all the above according to quantity of steak and marinate for at least a few minutes, best a few hours. Grill or fry.
Garnish with boiled vegetables which has been boiled in salt water. I used broccoli, carrots and corn. Nice if with mashed potatoes, but no time so I just fried french fries.
Mushroom Black Pepper Sauce
This recipe is what I came out with, after combining here and there for black pepper sauce..compared recipes from a few that I've got lah...this was based on my taste ya..so please adjust what ever you need to add to your taste...
Ingredients:-
1 can cream of mushroom(campbell brand)-290g
1 large onion diced
1 garlic chopped finely
2 cans of water
5 tbsp crushed black peppercorn
5 tbsp black pepper sauce
1 tbsp black pepper powder
1 tbsp white pepper powder
1 cube beef stock
1-2 cups of sliced brown /white swiss mushrooms
1 tbsp oyster sauce
Method:-
Heat oil and saute garlics and diced onions till fragrant. Add in beef stock, cream of mushroom and water. Let it simmer for a while. Add in mushrooms, black pepper powder, white pepper powder, black peppercorns, black pepper sauce and oyster sauce. Stir till incorporated. Let it simmer till sauce is slightly thickens. Taste and add whatever you think you need to add and turn off heat.
Spinach Fettuccine Pasta & Roasted Black Pepper Chicken
Yesterday after the parent session in Marsya school, I went to get stuff that are only available in Cold Storage, like this Spinach Fettuccine, the below Halal Roasted Black Pepper Chicken and the Frozen Halal Beef Sirloin Steak. While browsing at some stuff along came a lady boleh di panggil kakak lah jugak (seems older then me), asked me whether I see any 'TEMPE', in there..hehe.. well to my knowledge, so far Cold Storage dont sell tempe right?...so I answered her normally I dont see any Tempe, maybe can try NTUC, itu pun I seldom see, normally at Sheng Siong Supermarket adalah ...
So anyway, I've decided to try this recipe which was given to me by one of my silent reader, who is now a friend of mine...she emailed me this favourite recipe of hers to share it with me as a token of appreciation for our friendship...this was my first time eating 'green coloured' pasta (spinach flavoured)..sedap jugak tau..top up with this roasted chicken, boiled broccoli yes it is something different for me, my kids & me like it...Lucille if you read this, thank you for sharing this recipe with me.. since the recipe is 'exclusive' I can only share the pictures aje ya..
So anyway, I've decided to try this recipe which was given to me by one of my silent reader, who is now a friend of mine...she emailed me this favourite recipe of hers to share it with me as a token of appreciation for our friendship...this was my first time eating 'green coloured' pasta (spinach flavoured)..sedap jugak tau..top up with this roasted chicken, boiled broccoli yes it is something different for me, my kids & me like it...Lucille if you read this, thank you for sharing this recipe with me.. since the recipe is 'exclusive' I can only share the pictures aje ya..

Kuey Teow Ladna Seafood
Couldnt update my blog yesterday cause was quite busy running here and there....went to Hasif school to purchase his next year books and uniforms..after that went out again to buy groceries from the nearby supermarket...all by walking!!!..huhu..shackedoodle...got driving licence but dont dare to drive...padan muka aku..hehe ..Mr Hubby has been asking me when can I drive..at least not so bad when those days if he couldnt send the kids to tuition I can handle them.. but my answers was always, insyaallah...nanti I'll drive ler..hehee ... later will be going out again, this time to Marsya kindergarten..to collect her report card and view her works in school.
Anyway the above was yesterday menu... got the recipe from sunkist79... I changed the noodles to kuey teow...it is something like 'WatTan Hor' only this didnt add eggs in it..thank you Ida for sharing the recipe. As for today just fried the leftovers kuey teow for lunch...dinner will be prepared after I come back later..
Bahan2:-(1 pax)-
100g kuey teow-(kuey teow)
1 tbsp minyak sayur-(vegetable oil)
1 tbsp kicap pekat-(dark soy sauce)
isi sotong & udang-(squids & prawns)
1 tbsp tepung jagung-(corn flour)
sayur-sayuran seperti bunga kobis, baby corn, carrot, dll-(vegetables- cauliflower, baby corn, carrot etc.)
2 ulas bawang putih - dicincang kasar-(garlics crushed)
1 cup stok ayam-( chicken stock)
1 tbsp sos ikan-(fish sauce)
1 tbsp sos tiram-(oyster mushroom)
gula, serbuk perasa & sedikit serbuk white pepper-(sugar, msg & a bit of white pepper powder)
Cara2nya:-
Gaul isi sotong & udang sedikit tepung jagung dan maggi seasoning(saya tak letak). Perap selama 10 minit. Didalam mangkuk, gaulkan kuey teow dengan minyak & kicap pekat. Kemudian goreng dalam non stick pan sehingga warna kekuningan.Angkat dan sejukkan. Panaskan minyak dan goreng bawang putih hingga berwarna kekuningan. Masukkan isi udang & sotong yg telah diperap tadi dan goreng sehingga masak. Masukkan pula stok ayam dan masak hingga mendidih.
Masukkan sayur sayuran, sos ikan, sos tiram, gula & serbuk perasa. Kacau sehingga rata. Masukkan pula tepung yang telah dibancuh dengan sedikit stok ayam. Bila sudah pekat, angkat dan tuangkan keatas mee. Taburkan sedikit white pepper.-(Mix squids & prawns with some corn flour and maggi seasoning(I didnt use). Let it for 10 minutes.In a bowl, mix kuey teow with oil & dark soy sauce. Fry in a non stick pan till incorporated. Dish out and let cool. Heat oil and saute gralics till golden yellow. Add in marinated prawns & squids and stir fry till cooked. Add in chicken stock and let it simmer for a while. Add in veggies, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar & msg. Stir well. Add in corn flour that has been mixed with a bit of chicken stock. When thickens dish out and pour onto kuey teow.)

Tepung Menggoreng Rangup
Bahan-bahannya:-
75 gram tepung naik sendiri -(self raising flour)
60 gram tepung beras -(rice flour)
1 camca besar tepung jagung -(tbsp corn flour)
sedikit serbuk kunyit/ pewarna kuning -(a bit of turmeric powder/or yellow colouring)
garam secukupnya -(salt to taste)
gula secukupnya (jika mahu) -(sugar if preferred)
sedikit air kapur (anggaran 1 sudu kecil - jangan terlalu banyak nanti pahit) -(a bit of white lime water-not too much or else bitter- abt 1 tsp)
130 ml air -(water)
3 - 5 ketul ais (jangan terlalu banyak takut adunan cair) -(ice-not too much or else mixture will be too runny)
Cara-caranya:-
Satukan bahan kering didalam mangkuk. Buatkan lubang di tengahnya, tuangkan air sambil gaul hingga sebati. Bila pekat dan boleh menyalut belakang sudu, biarkan bancuhan selama 10-15 minit. Pastikan minyak untuk menggoreng banyak dan cukup panas supaya pisang digoreng menjadi keemasan dan tidak menyerap minyak. Selepas bancuhan diperab untuk 10 - 15 minit dan minyak cukup panas, masukkan anggaran 3 - 5 ketul ais dalam adunan dan celup pisang dalam bancuhan dan terus goreng. Insyallah pisang akan menjadi ranggup
walaupun telah sejuk. -(Mix all the dry ingredients in a container. Make a well in the centre, and add in water and mix well. When thickens and covered the back of the spoon, let the mixture for 10-15 minutes. Make sure oil for frying is really hot and covered the banana/cempedak/sweet potatoes to golden yellow and not soggy. After the mixture has set add in 3-5 ice and dip bananas in batter and fry. Bananas will still be crispy although when cool.)

Hasselback Potatoes
Made this for our afternoon tea...crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...peeling the slice one by one when I ate them...the below recipe was to use sliced garlics, but I used the minced one and just sprinkle some black pepper powder on the potatoes plus the rest of the recipe. Thanks Angie for this simple yet nice munchy..
Ingredients
6 Medium Size Potatoes-(kentang)
2 - 3 Cloves Garlic, thinly sliced-(bawang putih dihiris nipis)
2 Tbsp Olive Oil-( sudu besar minyak zaitun)
30 g Butter-(mentega)
Maldon Sea Salt-(garam)
Freshly Ground Black Pepper-(lada hitam)
Method
Preheat the oven to 220˚C (425˚F). Put the potato on a chopping board, flat side down. Start from one end of the potato, cut almost all the way through, at about 3 to 4 mm intervals.
Arrange the potatoes in a baking tray and insert the garlic in between the slits. Scatter some butter on top of each potato. Then drizzle the olive oil and sprinkle some sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.Bake the potatoes for about 40 minutes or until the potatoes turn crispy and the flesh is soft.-( Panaskan kan ketuhar at 220C. Potong rata bawah kentang sedikit. Hiris kentang nipis tapi jangan sampai putus. Susun kentang diatas loyang dan selitkan hirisan bawang putih dicelah2 kentang tadi. Sapukan mentega diatas permukaan kentang dan renjiskan sedikit minyak zaitun, lada hitam dan garam . Bakar selama 40 minit atau hingga kentang garing dan isinya lembut.)

Telur Puyuh Sambal w/ Tahi Minyak
Looking at the name I think some of you might be thinking that I am so free to make the tahi minyak(coconut crumbs) for this dish right?..hahaha..well actually the coconut crumbs was balance from my last koleh koleh kacang that I made...saw this recipe.. reminded me of the tahi minyak in the fridge so make full use of it lah...
To some who didnt know, to make coconut crumbs will take some of your time as you have to keep on stirring till the coconut milk turns to crumbs...so best if you want to make koleh koleh kacang make extra for the tahi minyak..as you wouldnt know when you might need it again..so if you have extras..it came in handy like this one...hehe

Ingredients:-
2 trays of quail's egg hard boiled (forgot to count how many there..hehe)-make several slashes on the surface of each egg-(2 tray telur burung-direbus dihiris permukaan nya)
Grind to a paste (with blender):-(Bahan kisar)
12 dried chillies-(cili kering)
1 large onion-(bawang besar)
1 level tsp belacan-( sudu kecil rata belacan)
3 tbsp water-(sudu besar air)
1 rounded tsp tamarind pulp-(sudu kecil asam jawa)
1/2 cup water-(mix to obtain juice)-(cawan air-campur dengan asam jawa)
1 level tbsp sugar-(sudu besar rata gula)
salt to taste-(garam secukup rasa)
1 large onion- cut to rings-(bawanag besar dihiris bulat)
2 tbsp oil-(sudu besar minyak)
For coconut crumbs:-(Untuk tahi minyak)
200g grated coconut
1 cup water- mix and extract milk
(or I suggest just use the ready squeeze coconut milk in packets-kara)-(pakai santan kara dah)
Method:-
To make coconut crumbs, put coconut milk in a saucepan and boil over low heat stirring occasionally until the liquid evaporates and oil appears. When the crumbs turn a golden brown, remove from pan. Coconut crumbs can be made a day earlier and stored in an air tight container. Heat oil in a wok and fry the ground ingredients until oil rises up the surface. Add in tamarind juice, sugar and salt and stir. Add in eggs, cover pan, lower heat, add onion rings and coconut crumbs and mix well.-( Untuk membuat tahi minyak, bubuh santan dalam periuk/kuali dan masak di atas api yang kecil. Kacau selalu sehingga kering dan pecah minyak. Bila santan sudah bertukar menjadi coklat/tahi minya angkat dan matikan api. Tahi minyak boleh disediakan sehari sebelum digunakan dan dismpan didalam bekas kedap udara. Panaskan minyak dan tumis bahan kisar sehingga garing. Masukkan air asam jawa, gula dan garam kacau hingga sebati. Masukkan telur, tutup periuk dan biarkan sebentar dengan api pelahan. Masukkan bawang yang dihirs bulat dan tahi minyak dan kacau rata.)
