Spicy Spaghetti Aglio Olio

My family are so used to my cooking spaghetti/pasta in pomodoro sauce or another word tomato sauce...that they are not used to eating 'white coloured' spaghetti/pasta if we were to eat out or even for me to cook them..
One day, when we were dining out in an Italian restaurant, I've decided to try the so called aglio olio menu in the list..cause I wanted to try it first and if its nice I would try it at home ..ermm not bad, I said, only thing if it was a bit hot & spicy, the taste would have made me satisfied...although I did finished the entire plate (dont waste food ok).. it was not hot at all no matter how much crushed red pepper or chili flakes I have added!!!...As you guys know..me & my 'malay tekak(taste)' like it hot...hehehe...

When I saw Mamafami's posting  a few months ago, thank you dear sis... I reckoned this is the right recipe as she uses 'basil pesto' for her Aglio Olio..My quest to search for that basil pesto ended when I only managed to find another brand that is halal, but of course the brand she used also halallah, but too bad it was out of stock....:)
Based on her recipe, I adjusted according to my taste...Yes my spicy version...hehehe
After cooking I realised now my spagetti aglio olio looks like fried spaghetti ...hahahaha...lantak ler..As long it just suits me & family..I am good...hehe..at the end of the day 1  packet spaghetti ..tak cukup awak..

Assalamualaikum Ayu....

Hello, what we've got here. No wonder semalam tersedak, ada orang nyebut rupanya! Hehehe...

Aikkk.. aglio olio yang simple sudah di'sophisticated'kan oleh Ayu. Menangis orang Itali tau!

Kenkadang mama masak, ma masuk cili padi tumbuk. Betullah cakap Ayu, orang Melayu, mana kick makan tak pedas kan? Rasa cam baby pulak makan tak pedas! Hahaha...

Nowadays pun dah tak masak guna paste tu lagi, sebab dah tak jumpa kat supermarket biasa. Habis stock. So, masaklah pesen diorang, from scratch. Lagi senang sebenarnya. Ahaks...

Anyway, thanks Ayu for trying out the recipe. Recipe tipu tipu je tu... :)

Dulu masa I work in a Hotel, time ada meeting je Agli Olio ni mesti ada request .. sama macam Ayu, I opt for spicier version sampai my director cakap, kalau dah tekak Melayu tu, Melayu jugak ..
Tapi kalau tak pedas tu mcm something amiss kan?

Ayu said...

Rosdi - aah memang setuju ..kita nikan tekak melayu habis tau..kalau tak ada cili padi macam tak makan..hahah..basically kalau makan tak pedas, makanan tu lalu gitu aje tak kick langsung..itu yang buat macam tak kenyang..hehehe...
