Hi, by the time I wrote post this, it was already a good 2am Saturday morning....Mr Hubby still not back yet!..he's involved in the the coming big event that will be happening in Singapore..the 2010 Youth Olympic Games..well cant elaborate more, as he was quite busy.... in fact very busy for the past few months for this...
Imagine he did not have his dinner at home for a the past few weeks now....excluding Sundays only..cause even Saturdays it was burnt...out of the blue, on Wednesday morning before he left for office, he said he wanted to eat crabs..and specifically said black pepper crabs,and will be back for dinner that night although its late..
Frankly I have never cooked black pepper crabs before..hehehe tak gelabah kita dibuatnya..heheh..but no worries I told myself....surf the netlah was the answer....came across this recipe and gave it a try...added more chili padis and black peppercorns..ha engkau..berpeluh2 dia makan..hehehe..lepas tu cakap best!!..kombang lubang hidung mokcik tau...hilang penat malam2 menumis..hehehe...

1 1/2 Dungeness Crab (3 1/2 lbs)-(Ayu used about 2 flower crabs)
5 Tbsp Coarsely Ground Black Peppercorns
5 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
6 cloves Garlic, chopped
10 Thai Bird's Eye Chilies, chopped
2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Kicap Manis
1 Tbsp Kicap Manis
Peanut Oil for deep frying
Method
Coat the crab pieces with some corn flour and deep fry them in hot oil. Then set aside.
Add 1 Tbsp of peanut oil together with the butter. Then add the garlic and chilies and stir briefly or until the garlic is light golden in color and fragrant.
Then add the coarsely ground black peppers, oyster sauce, kicap manis, dark and light soy sauce. Bring to a quick boil and toss in the crab pieces and stir until well combine. Serve immediately.
