Nasi Udang Cendawan Butang

Tried this recipe today...another variations in rice first my impressions of this dish was like maybe it taste like briani, cause the use of oil in it..and because of that I made the Dhal Curry Pakistani sytle 2 entries after this..but after eating, my verdict is actually this menu is already nice to eat it just on its own!!!...

I guessed, it is something like 'Chicken Rice' menu but for this its using prawns...
Auntie, thought its fried rice!!!..I told her no, cause this recipe is all boiling method...


1 cup rice(washed cleaned) -I used basmati rice
1 cup water
8 medium size prawns( with shell-cleaned)
15 button mushrooms(I used canned)
3 tbsp corn oil
*5 garlics
*2 lemon grass
*1 inch ginger
*1/2 inch galangal
(*blended ingredients)
1 pandan leaf
3 green chillies sliced halves(optional)
salt and MSG to taste
some spring onions, celery for garnishing

In a pot, put to boil, rice together with water, oil, garlics, lemon grass, ginger, galangal, pandan leaf, salt and MSG. Let it for a while. When bubbling, add in prawns. When rice are almost cooked or a bit dried, add in green chillies and let it till cooked. Sprinkle celery, spring onions and fried shallots before serving.
